Alienware m17x needs bios update after cpu upgrade?

Ive changed the cpu and now , after some effort, laptop shutsdown. am i doing a bad thermal job or its need upgrade?

First m17x (r1, but some say its wrog that denomination)
i upgradede from a core 2 duo p8600 to a quad q9100.

I Just bught a better thermal paste, so Im gonna try that way.
