Alienware m17x r1

Hi everyone. I thinking about bying a Alienware 17 r1.
But I'm concerned that it's too old to manage newer game's.
Is there any advise you can give me before I buy or what I can change to make it better.

1. Generation M17X with
2*ATI Radeon HD 4870 and 8 Gb Ram . Q9000 2,0 GHZ processor.

if u are looking for to play new AAA games i suggest staying away from it,the best u can upgrade the cpu to is a core 2 duo/quad extreme processor and the gpu max is an amd 5870m in crossfire.
