Dear Lady/Sir,

Kindly I ask your attention.

System:

AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
Biostar A770E3
2GB RAM (2x2GB on delivery, just bought)
ATI 5750 HD Color - 1GB
550 Power supply

Future:

2x2GB RAM more (one will be taken out and two will be put in for a total of 4x2GB).

OS installed:

Windows XP Pro Multi Language x32
Windows 7 Ultimate x32/x64

What I like to do is next:

One processor for the Anti-Virus program and for Easy Defrag, those two programs sharing one RAM of 2GB.

Maby one for the controller program and Easy Defrag.

So, the system will have 4/5 processors and 2x2GB RAM. I use the pc a lot for gaming.

I have Process Lasso installed, not in use ad the moment. And it gives issues when starting with Windows. I'm not shore though, had a bad RAM. At the moment I don't dear to use it, because Windows is running good.

If the program is worthless, just let me know.

For doing these things, I need a program that can handle these actions like Process Lasso.

Is Process Lasso good (enough)?
Is there a (free?) program that can do this things?
Are the things I want good?
Should I set the controller program to the 2GB too?
Or is there a better way of doing it?

Hopefully I let you known enough and I will be waiting for a reply.

Best Regards,

MeneerWitte

I have never used Process Lasso, and I would never use anything like it. I have done some advanced threaded programing on Windows, and I can tell you that XP and newer do a very good job at allocating CPU cores to those processes that need them.
