amp wont stay on

I have a infinity 500 watt car amp when I tried to hook it up all it does is the protection light comes on for a sec then whole amp goes off amp worked fine when I unhooked been in my closet now its doing this.

usually when my protection light would come on it meant there was a bad ground. moving the ground wire to a better location on your vehicle should work (at least for me it did lol)

Wrong impedance speakers hooked to amp...
Speaker wires shorted to car chassis....or wired wrong.
OR amp has blown transistors...take to service center.

I had it grounded to the radio ground then moved to the truck body still same thing

I haven't hooked speakers up I had rca's and power only

If the amp shuts down with no speakers hooked up...the amp is probably blown up.
Or it might be wired wrong.

I had it hooked straight to battery for 12v supply and to the remote wire on stereo and then the ground with rca's and that was it but if its blown I reckin i'll see on getting it fixed or buy a new one thanks for the help.
