New Vizio TV has no headphone output. We need amplifier to hook to our surround sound in our small 26ft 2005 RV. We found one amplifier small enough but it ran so hot we were very uncomfortable about keeping it due to its fire risk.
Any suggestions??

Your TV probably has an optical audio output. That is compatible with any surround sound receiver. Marantz has some small ones that sound good. All surround sound receivers will have a thermal cutoff that will put the receiver into protection is it runs too hot. If the receiver is in an enclosed cabinet then ventilating that and may adding a fan would give you some peace of mind.

Your post is a bit confusing, are you just asking for what amp to use for surround sound or how to connect your TV to the system? Did you check with some RV sites or dealers about what audio options you can use?

I will address the heat part. Whether u go for 120v or 12v, suggest amp of class D. These tend to come in a smaller package and run cooler at a given power level. Car stereos are class D, otherwise the bulk would take half of the car.
