[citation][nom]xbeater[/nom]the amount of money you save buying a normal gas powered scooter is probably enough to pay for all the fuel costs in it's lifetime... $7237... seriously?[/citation]

In my area, electric is very expensive. My electric company raised rates by 29% in February, and looking to increase those rates by an addition 5% in June. Might be cheaper to just use gas.

If I had the balance for two wheels, I'd give [something like] this serious consideration for my daily commute. With all that weight though, I wonder how long a set of brake pads (and tires) lasts.

750+lbs is (and should be) a no go for almost everyone. That weight will decimate braking and handling, not to mention if you get crushed when you bail on it. And good luck manuevering it around while off. That is just way too heavy.

The weight here is incorrectly specified. From the manufacturer's website:

Curb Weight:
294 lbs / 134 kg

Gross Weight (includes rider):
759 lbs / 345kg

While I'm not sure it's a good buy, it would be nice to actually dine on a patio in Lago Majora without getting buzzed by decibel crushing Vespas every three minutes.

How the hell is electricity environmental friendly? it either comes from a nuclear or Gas or Coal power station lmao

(renewable power makes up less than 3% of the grid)

I've been riding these (my dad and I bought 4 2 white, 1 blue, 1 red) for almost 2 years. not QUITE the same range (maximum range I got was about 80-85km) but equal speeds and MUCH better looks. also, I'm not sure about the sccoter in this article, but Vectrix's come standard with brembo brakes! 😀

It depends where you live, not every country is as 3rd worldish as the USA or China... Coal plants, lol!

Not that I really care, Ill keep using my highly polluting CBR 600RR instead of getting this slow heavy Chinese-made crap.

[citation][nom]mavanhel[/nom]YAY!!! Someone finally put it right way around![/citation]

The source is American which means no its supposed to be in MPH first then your stupid european namby pamby kph

Meh with that pricing you can buy almost any bike you would want. Most get upwards of 50+ mpg. Hell I have a sportsbike and ride it hard and I get ~42 its a sv1000.

Drop a HEMI in er! lets see what 370hp can do...

Seriously though, a normal gas scouter would likely be more cost effective for any potential buyer. Who buys a scooter over the age of 16 anyhow? Also what 16yr old has 7k to blow on this when they can buy a car/truck? Lastly, what 16yr old cares about green?

I would rather bus it then ride a scooter!

The ZEV7000 weighs a total of 345 kilos (or 759 pounds)

That is fully loaded with 2 riders, it's actually 205 pounds lighter than the Vectrix.

You've experienced that, too. Flaming menace at times, those things..and dangerous. Saw no end of accidents over there. I chose to hire a cycle and get off the roads..you wouldn't get me on one even if it was electric although the nice thing is a big bonus - if you live in the UK you probably know what I mean, what with the brats riding those things day and night, often illegally. They then graduate to the higher echelons of chav culture, namely their purchase of a small car with an over-sized, ear-bursting exhaust to make them feel all big and trendy. They should get all these morons and buy them an electric bike..then encourage them to drive off the White Cliffs of Dover on the premise they can fly like a bird just like in the Hollywood films..
