an old text file is showing gibberish

I am not sure if I'm posting this topic in the right place - I hope so

This is the first line of my text file (without the ""): "Iý6x#ðà¬hÙÓc‡:à•»4ìÅTóðæÕïd®2Oi¸ šŠc,GÈét!BØau½Ç·˜ÃdeB,ã "

Is my text file corrupted and gone? Or can I somehow save and convert it to readable text?

If they are corrupted, it gone. but if it was create from some apps that really is not .txt extension, change the it back to the correct extension.

I am not sure I understand. If I can "save" this file, how do I do it? I have Notepad++ and Open Office Writer

I am almost sure it was. Could it be that it's some weird text format from an old Nokia phone? I had some messages from old phones, as well...
