I have a Sony Xperia S Android cell phone with Android version 4.1.2. Can someone please inform me of how to change my message on the lock screen.

When I say lock screen, I am referring to the screen that is shown after I have turned my screen back on after it has been turned off.

Just give me clarity of what is the message you are getting. on the screen. Try an alternative. Disable the lock screen in settings and install Next lock screen a superb android app. If no, just give me some more clarity for the problem.

I have found how to change the message in settings. Is there any reason why I should not use the lock screen service that comes with the Android Operating System?

There is no obvious reason. I prefer next is user friendly and can support a lot of options. It is free in play store. Give a try buddy
