Android phone can't recapture space on sd card

MY PHONE'S 32G SD CARD WON'T SHOW ANYMORE EMPTY SPACE EVEN AFTER DELETING ALL THE FILES ON MY SD CARD

Please don't type in all caps.

When you removed all the files, did you make sure to restart (turn off and back on) the phone so that it would register the change correctly? And have you gone into "Settings" then "Storage" to see exactly how much space is available on the card? (after the restart)
