Android phone won't me transfer apps and games to external card

I recently got a smartphone and I bought an external microSD for it (32gig) but for some reason it won't let me transfer apps to the SD. It has enough space and the option to move the apps is there but I get a message stating there isn't enough space on the card. The card is completely empty so I know that's not correct. I can't find a fix for this any help would be appreciated.

Tried it, didn't work sadly.

Could it be possible that you have a faulty sd card slot on your device or even a faulty sd card?

Yeah it was the SD, found another older one I could test it with. Thanks for the help.
