android smartphone failure. safe to service?

All of a sudden, my new android 4.12 samrtphone stopped turning on. The windows machine notices its connecting but the phone's screen remains blank and the phone does not start up.

Before the breakdown, I turned usb debugging on (heard it is risky).

Is it safe to send my phone for servicing? Should I change my google account password or some other?

The locker is set to a complex pattern.

Try removing the battery for a minute (if it is removable) and then try turning it on again.
