Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that Android devices are LOT more affordable than the iPhone, both immediately and in the long-term.

How can they monitor your bandwidth used on your home connection? That makes no sense and would be a violation of privacy. Just because it says OS does not mean it's monitoring your data usage on wifi.
