Android virus? Chat app sending scam messages from me.

Hey I have a S6 Android, I had (uninstalled now) an app called "MeetMe" (chat app), which today started having conversations by itself. I heard my phone beeping away receiving messages but as I was busy didn't look at it for about 15mins. When I did there where two conversations on MeetMe where I had said, along the lines of "Hey blar blar add me on kik, kik user name ect"

Clearly a scam message but my profile had sent it, and received reply's from the person receiving.

I don't know a lot about android viruses but concerned something is going on, I have Avast scanner on there but from what I tell it doesn't scan for viruses, just tells me I have junk files and useless things like that. I didn't even think android where really a thing.

Any advice would be appreciated!

The best way is to format the phone and reset factory all data. Hope your some of data is on cloud. You can't do much about it. Android is still less safer than iOS

Actually a "Factory Reset" won't remove all data. It will often keep much of the things you have added. You would be better served doing a "Hard Reset" in that case.
