Pedophile should be pronounced "lethal injection".... imho

I think this is a publicity stunt, anonymous wants/needs more public support so why not go after a group that everyone hates? I say good on them anyways, stunt or not I can appreciate it...

Just because you kill an innocent family and then kill child rapist doesn't make you a good person (or group in this case). Or just because a person doesn't lock a door doesn't mean you should just go in a steal stuff. You are still criminals and always will be. You have a bad reputation and you will never get it make in my opinion. Go and take down child porn sites, that is awesome, but your bad past will always be there along with the good. I still hate you!!

They don't care about their past, or how you feel about them. They care about proactive activism. On one hand, they're a group who has shortsightedly victimized alot of people. But on the other hand, what other activist group do you know of that's actually getting off their ass and doing something they believe in... AND getting results?

They instead need to track down the people making the child porn.

This should be well within their ability since they have done it many times before.

Find the people abusing the children and give law enforcement a chance to arrest them, if law enforcement fails and it is completely known that the target is making child porn, then make their life a living hell (which anon has also done before)

But simply targeting the hosting companies will not be effective as the content still exist and it does not hinder their ability to make the child porn. If anything it may make the issue worst as they will spread out across many hosting services and form many more groups.

If there is really a central service that is handling most of the child porn, then use that service as a base to track down the people hurting the children.

Other than that it is at least good that a group like anon is doing something about it. The media has covered topics such as this many times in the past and law enforcement made little to no attempt to track down the people making the child porn (but for some reason they have the resources to station hundreds of thousands of police officers on every road with the goal of giving you a ticket for some random reason that is geared purely to revenue generation).

Hopefully anon takes it to the next step and not only takes down the sites but also tracks down the people creating the content.

Looks like Anon is trying to sub their black hats for gray ones. Not bad, but they should cooperate with authorities so that maker and distributors of child pornography would be served with appropriate legal penalties.

Regardless of there past or future they should be awarded for this.

Imagine if your children were victims, i dont care what they have done before this is a good thing.

Speaking as a parent, this is THE SINGLE BEST BIT OF NEWS I HAVE EVER READ ON TOM's.

EVERYONE SHOULD SUPPORT ANON FOR THIS

This is really great to hear that Anonymous has finally gone through the porn sites to hack. All the pornography sites should be hacked or they should be informed that to use Family filter to avoid Children view those sites.

Good for you Anonymous... go get the child porn sites... get them off the air, no matter what country they may hide out in.

[citation][nom]amk-aka-phantom[/nom]I honestly don't know what to think. Here're some points to think about:1) CP is bad (m'kay?) No, I'm serious this time. It's good to see Anonymous is going after that.2) From the other side, it seems like a cheap publicity stunt from their side to gain popularity.3) Also, I can't help but notice that, although despotism of a superior entity with right moral beliefs is the only efficient means of a just government, I cannot trust Anonymous' beliefs to be right. 4) Hell, I don't even see why should anyone agree to them doing it... CP is bad, but they're given way too much freedom to mess around on the net.[/citation]
Technically, what Anonymous is doing is still illegal. In this case, it is easily, IMHO, termed vigilantism. Perhaps they struck a deal with the authorities? My guess is probably not.

In any event, it is good to see them aiming at a target that is several orders of magnitude more damaging to society - as I see it.

WOW, now if only our federal Governemnet would get off their ass and go after sites like this we could actually stop CP. Sadly we live in a country where victims must suffer and the rights of criminals are above all others. It's good to see Anonymous do something for the greater good. It's heart breaking to know that law enforecement let these sites go on and never did anything about them.

What will the sickos do without their child porn fix? "Hey little girl, want some candy??" ... Anon might have just pissed off a whole bunch of these people who are going to go out and do something bad.

I agree with Razor512, Anon should help track down the bastids who make the porn.

Seems legit...

I'm quite happy for this vigilanteism to continue, since I pretty much agree on most things.

Though this does seem to be a large change in direction, publicity stunt or fluid leadership. Who tf knows

I appreciate what they did in this act but they still have done a lot of other junk. I think it's too early to tell whether they're good or bad for sure. But up till now they really seem like a bunch of punks.

Posting the names is a start. But if the police were conducting an investigation and they messed it up, that could be bad. The police take their time, cross all the t's and dot all the i's and try to get as much info on all the users as possible. This enables to take the hole thing down at one time, with all the users and their IP addresses.

I hope they don't take down some poor old lady with an unsecured wireless router that her freak neighbor is leaching off of.

I hear what you are saying, but the difference is the government has rules it has to follow, and we don't want them to abandon those rules (no matter how justifiable we may see it), because it may be us one day they decide to target.

Having said that, I love what Anon is doing. Is it a bit of a PR stunt? Sure, but that doesn't mean good isn't coming from it!
