A moral approach this time? I think anon is always moral... Corporations and governments are the two most evil forces in this world...

But in regards to this... I applaud it! Huzzah for you guys, keep it up, and get rid of the trash of the world!

The reason these sick pedio sites are there is the first place is because A LOT of the users are, you guessed it, people in high positions of power.

While I agree with a lot of the statements posted here regarding the potential of Anonymous interfering with FBI investigations, I have to ask a few questions. First off, why is it that you occasionally hear of individual persons being arrested for these images on their PC's, but never about the huge rings of these people producing the stuff getting taken out? If their goal is looking for where most of the stuff is being produced, why isnt it ever found? Yet at the same time, when Anonymous starts doing things there are 40+ arrests, and quickly. Our government has "been after" these producers of CP for a very long time. We get the occasional arrest of end users here and there, why? What seems to be the reality here is that it just isnt important enough to law enforcement to be truly concerned with. A small part of the people who DL this crap get caught, the huge list of people producing hundreds of thousands of these images dont, yet they have been "targeted" for many years. Obviously law enforcement is failing. The wway I see it is good for someone else stepping up and doing something. Maybe this is just the embarrassment law enforcement needs to get with the program and get the lead out. Something has to be done, and they have been dropping the ball for far too long!

There is a downside that seems to get missed. By attacking these websites, Anonymous has undoubtedly tipped off the pedos. They will go underground, wipe their hard drives, etc., etc., etc.

It's a tough call. Keep the porn up a bit longer than needed in order to gather intel on the pedos? Or take the porn down immediately, and chase as many of them that scurry away as you can find afterward?

here is just a few takes on it.

1) the end users are not important, sure they look at it, but thats as far as many take it, resources to hunt them is largely wasted, if anon made them wipe their hdds, all the better.

2) these places have existed forever, and will always pop back up

3) the people making it, are the ones you should go after, and i mean the real cp, the 10 year old and 50+ year old kind, not the he was 18 and she was 14 kind, or the woman who like 'em young, or even the two underage who vid themselves doing it. the thing is though, these people know how to do it and not get caught.

in all honesty, it would be better to get the end users to remove the images, have the hosts forced to hide further (less people will see it) and possibly force them to stop using a method that hid themselves, but use a different method where they may get cought. i mean think of it, if you have to set up... lets say a sound system often, you stop being meticulous about assembly, and become complacent, and this leads to a mistake.

now here is a fact, when a person is raped, do they want to constantly relive that experience? now i say rape because that's what real cp is, no consent, but an adult saying ill kill your faimaly if you say anything, or a girl being sold into slavery. if anything they want to forget, and the best they can hope for is to never see the pictures if they ever get away.

The U.S., the U.K. and some of the Commonwealth and E.U. countries have been vigilant in fighting child pornographers, and cooperate with each other in international enforcement operations. Consequently, the great majority of CP Internet sites are on offshore servers, beyond the legal reach of the FBI, Scotland Yard, etc. Many are administered from Russia, Eastern Europe and Asia, which is also where many of the producers operate.

Another factor that I believe many in this forum haven't considered is the likelihood that many of the "customers' names" on those servers are aliases and/or stolen identities. If you were a CP perv, you wouldn't register on those sites with your real name, would you? Some fools would, of course. But many would use a false name and a prepaid credit card purchased with cash.

When I heard about this a couple days ago, my first reaction was, "Wow, Anonymous actually is doing something useful for a change."

But then as I thought about it and read the article closer, I realize that Anonymous is doing less good than most people think, and could in fact be doing great harm in bringing the real criminals to justice.

As it stands now, any information that Anonymous has published would never stand-up in a court of law, and could taint existing evidence in any ongoing cases, cause a case to be dismissed, and let the real criminals free to harm another child.

Anonymous is essentially a group of teenagers or people with teenage mentality. They pounce on something with good (or perceived good) intentions, without expending a blip of thought on the potential consequences.

They're playing internet batman... And I like it...
Innocent people may get in the way, (even I did when they crashed HoN), but at the end of the day they'll get my support because of stuff like this.

I think this is an amazing thing. People choosing to stand up for what is right & protecting the innocent who cannot protect themselves. There is no greater act of honor & love. I hope more people see this & choose to live their lives in a way that brings hope & justice to any group of people that is suffering & forgotten.Thank you.
