I've been using Ashampoo firewall all the time and it was the straightforward and user friendly app which meet my requirement. This application alerts me when a new application is requesting internet. I have the option to allow the requesting application and remember my choice for this app. And it also log which application is allowed or denied at which time. That's all I want. Now I've upgraded to Windows 8 and Ashampoo firewall is not compatible anymore. I've tried many firewalls like comodo and it contains so much bloatware and not friendly for me. I don't want any antivirus, webshield, OS monitor like windows' UAC (ie. XYZ application is accessing your system component bla blah), toolbar or anything. All I want is

1) Alert on new application internet request even for windows' components and trusted application.
2) Log with allowed/denied time and application name.

Is there any firewall application like that or at least one which can be configured to meet only this two requirement? Please advice me. Thank you for your precious time :)

Comodo is my favourite. I know you've already tried it but you're not, it seems, using the custom install option to exclude what you don't want, and neither are you making use of the system tray icon to disable modules you don't want (right-click).

It's only fair to call an application "bloatware" when it forces you to install and enable everything.

Well, I didn't have any choice for GeekBuddy and Comodo Dragon or something :D
Of course, I can uninstall these two but I'm getting confused with the configuration settings and also my local messenger application was blocked, don't know which I made wrong with the configurations, so I gave up and uninstalled.. :(
