Any major difference between these 1080's?

Hi,

Locally I can get these 1080s, are there any major performance difference between them
ASUS PCIe Nvidia GTX1080 8Gb (STRIX-GTX1080-A8G-GAMING)
ASUS PCIe Nvidia GTX1080 8Gb (STRIX-GTX1080-8G-GAMING)
MSI PCIe GTX1080 8Gb OC (912-V336-015)
MSI PCIe GTX1080 8Gb OC (912-V336-087)

Also
MSI PCIe GTX1080 SEA HAWK EK 8G OC (912-V330-052)
MSI PCIe GTX1080 SEA HAWK EK 8G X (912-V336-005)
These two require a water cooler

They will be going with
Intel i7-8700
16GB 3000/3600MHz RAM
Samsung 960 250GB SSD

Id get the ASUS one, the MSI armor does not have the best cooler MSI can offer. And EK waterblock requires a custom loop.

Not really, the main difference is clock speed. I think even the cooler are the same for same series. You buy the extra in exchange for a faster out of the box card.

So basically the A8G is just a factory overclocked version of the 8G?
If I buy the cheaper one would I be able to manually overclock to a similar level as the A8G?

yes.

as far as i know, only a few 1080 claims to be binned chip and they cost a lot more, for the rest, it's basically silicon lottery.
