Yea like a port on a portable device that can transmit digital signal to an external source of display.

That sounds just like what the patent office would approve.

Same goes here. Toms fail. It takes half an hour for my comment to show.

Yea, It seems ok on the UK site though :s

Well they can't quite ask for long experience with Thunderbolt integration as such, but that's more likely what Apple will be putting in everything.

Oh, how cool! Let's not addd HDMI, which is present on pretty much every modern screen, but let's add DisplayPort! /sarcasm

Makes sense - Apple always tweaked their stuff so that it only works properly with their iDevices. What else has DisplayPort? 😀

10+ years of experience? Ok, except... DisplayPort was first introduced in 2006. Hahaha.

DisplayPort is royality free (unlike HDMI) and according to Wikipedia it's an open standard meant to replace DVI.

VGA is 1987 technology. Seriously, look it up.

Open standard.
Royalty-free (meaning Apple won't pay 0.0005 cents for every device that uses HDMI).
Can be used for Ethernet and USB transfer (both directions) along with video output.
Longer distances.
One DP cable can be split and using 2 monitors at the same time.

And more.

Impressive move Apple. Steve Jobs is such a genius. Now your fanboys will have more connectivity. Maybe your next brilliant move will be to add an SUB port to you crappy iPad.
