Apple is losing its last saving grace its design aspect, I for one would feel embrassed owning an iphone 4 with its lack of individuality and consumer drone insignia. The HTC Evo is lapping up the free publicity as the iphone 4s direct rival but it is not an amazing phone by any means. I will wait this round out until the Intel based Moorestown, smartphone arrives with a decent display and proper HD video playback.
You really have to wonder how dumb, Apple fans are purchasing restrictive products with faulty designs with inferior hardware produced in far east sweatshops where the workers regularly kill themselves. Upgraded devices include features that should have been present on the original device and customers are lied to and told, 'that its their own fault the device doesn't work'. All the while Apples stock price soar, I think Apple stock price has a direct correlation with the illiteracy level and general stupidity of people in the World today.

Dear Steve.

Apple sure has had some failures.

Here are a few of the worst for you to mull over while your new organs are settling in from the transplant.

Kind regards,

The Repo Man.

Nice. They deleted the threads so no one knows and now they are on the news and everyone knows. "A hi tech company should know better" as Treebeard would have said.

so this confirms that there is a real problem. else Apple should produce a press release explaining there is no problem instead of deleting these posts.
but nothing new here... Apple already act like this in the past and they continue.
No respect to the persons.

Wow. Everyone calls tape, fingernail polish and the bumper a "solution". Do you guys even know what a solution is?

Let me tell you... A solution is a method for SOLVING a problem.

The PROBLEM here is when holding the phone in its "native" way in its "native" form there is a signal loss. Tape, bumpers or otherwise SOLVE this problem. They modify the PROBLEM in a way as to avoid it. A solution is for Apple to produce a device that can be held normally in its native form and not show reception issues.

Don't forget some people don't want to put a bumper on their phone. Have you tired pushing a phone in and out of your pocket with a rubber case on it? Stretches the case and pulls your pocket inside out.

I remember when Intel put out the Pentium with the math errors in the chip and Intel called it minor and I believe they stated (paraphrased) "...it's so small that it would be like calculating the distance from the earth to the sun and being off by a few feet..." Well, imagine that! What if YOU WANTED to calculate the distance from the earth to the sun OR it was your job and those few feet mattered? The chips were replaced and they affected almost no one in the general population of their consumers.

I used to think that I just didn't like Apple products. Hate is a strong word... but I HATE Apple products. Their company has ZERO tolerance for admission of negative press.

Ok now the antenna is the deal-breaker. And it is proved. I wonder what happened to the team who designed the circuits, placement of antenna and all those involved in testing? Fired? I hope they do that. :-D

This changes everything again....quite literally as it doesn't actually work as a mobile phone when you hold it, cant really change a mobile phone in a greater way than that! Maybe iPhone 5 will hover because I don't see apple going back on their design because of this "tiny" cock up.

Since I was eligible for the $199 upgrade... I dont even actually know what the full retail price is. I don't think I could recommend buying a $750 phone to anybody.

I sold my iphone 3g for $225 to cover the $216 cost of my iphone 4 upgrade and it's like going from a pentium 3 to an i7 computer.

No one is perfect, all businesses make mistakes. But it is the way they react to those mistakes that makes a business good or bad. Apple is bad in the way it reacts, but they do have something that makes them above the competition...software wise at least. Maybe just the games but they still have upper hand and is the reason why so many buy this thing. I also believe this is a problem just over blown and don't think its a serious issue, but what would I know...haven't tested it for myself 😛.

Good links about some of Apple's failures in the past Reynod.
However it leaves out one of the biggest failures and the cause of Steve Jobs first leaving Apple in the 80's.
That was the failure of the original Macintosh.
Although very innovative and presenting a well designed GUI and Mouse for general users (as compared to the business orientated LISA) the original Macintosh was too expensive,it lacked sufficient RAM (the OS used over half of its 128K RAM),was extremely limited with lack of software applications for well over a year, copying a disk took up to 20 disk swaps and the lack of cooling caused many a failure with the analog power boards.Sales of the Macintosh plummeted and few were sold.It wasn't the success that Jobs had predicted.Apple had build a huge automated factory to produce them and by Christmas 1984 Apple was stuck with a huge inventory of machines that didn't sell (Steve Jobs had expected to sell well over 10 times the number of Macintosh's that were actually sold).
Apple lost a lot of money over Job's fiasco however the Macintosh line was Apple's future (It was improved over time).

Although I do like to know when apple fails at something... reading another post about this ridiculous and pathetic company is still somehow annoying...
