In the past I believe Apple clocked their mobile phone processors lower. So could be 800-900Mhz vs 1.4Ghz with the competition. GPU might be faster, but the processor is slower. Hard to call either an outright win.

Samsung Nexus Prime next week with a 720p 4.6" display to.

Just in case you didn't actually read what the original poster said, I will re-say it (and I don't necessarily agree/disagree with either of you - I just dislike inability to read):

'easier to use, looks better, and functions better.'

That is three reasons, not one. One of which is pivotal (aka function) and ease of use is also important.

[citation][nom]Dark Comet[/nom]You know what the battery life on the Iphone is before its out? Have you tested it with the A5?[/citation]

Are you claiming Apple is lying about the battery life?

Did Apple underclock the processor in this case? I didn't get that impression.

They don't normally release the clock speed do they?

Selective reading huh? Did you happen to read the parts to either side of the "looks" part of my post (which I'm sure you assumed that I meant the looks of the device itself rather than the iTunes interface) where I mentiond its functionality, and ease of use? And at least my iPhone came with headphones, did my Inspire come with any...no. And to tell the truth, I notice no difference in the quality of the sound of either devices, and I use Bose MIE2 headphones.

Not at this stage, no. Nothing confirming any under-clock.

I think that they should've upgraded the Shuffle and given it more storage space. I'd say 4 GB should be the minimum.

I don't even have to read the comments to know that most of you are blindly raging about Apple and its fanboys, when you yourself are equally guilty of being fanboys on the opposite end of the spectrum. The hypocrisy is funny because you hate the very thing that you are and feel threatened by a competitor. Unless you work for or have stock in a competing company, there's no reason to hate.

lmao, you mean your in depth analysis of easier to use and functions better? easier to use? not sure what mp3 player you used on android but finding songs, playlists, artists, albums and hitting play is quite easy on mine. functions better? how so, you just said you dont notice a difference in quality? so you carry an extra device around for what reason again? Yeah I thought so, none.

[citation][nom]soldier37[/nom]Disappointed to say the least. Not called the 5, no 64gb option no bigger screen wtf???All this time for this???[/citation]

No bigger screen is a disappointment but it does have a 64gb version.

In all fairness though my andriod's music interface is easy for me to use. I've never really cared about ease of use because I've never found any of them a burden to use. If the Iphone comes with the white ones that came with my nano years ago they're a waste of the plastic they are made out of. The £20 price tag they had made me laugh alot when I was a kid.

I was hoping my new phone decision would be made easier by this launch, expected at least an iPhone 5. On paper, the new 4S is probably very good, I think the CPU/GPU combo is probably (and I don't know this for sure) one of if not the fastest you can get at the mo, and the quoted battery life figures seem quite good compared to other phones - and sure camera is better than it was before, but it's all a bit ... blah. Nothing really ground breaking, I think that's the disappointment. The voice control is nice but I don't want to control a phone with my voice anyway.

Was definitely expecting more, so this means I've got some tough decisions to make over which phone to get next!!

what the hell..... did i just walk into some bizzaro zone, that's the first time i seen iTunes and functionally better in the same sentence, we are talking about the same 80 gig worth of DRM laden, CPU draining bloat right. Make no mistake if Apple had not locked their products down so tightly iTunes would not be the preferred method of accessing their iProducts, folks dont use iTunes cause they want to, they use iTunes cause they have to

it amazes me that a company that ("supposedly") excels at optimizing the OS for their products can produce the pig that is iTunes

Mmm'kay... so Apple threw in voice control, which I had since my Nokia 3310.

Android has voice control for a while now, but this is big for Apple users.

And how much you wanna bet they'll think it's so original?

And it's still $100 for 16GB of storage? GTFO...

So, aside from the new talkative app, no HDMI, no USB, nothing new? Well, SGS II still remains king - as if there was any doubt. And no iPhone 5... :kaola:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iphone

Shows every previous generation of iPhone being under-clocked. Not saying the 4S will be, but it is possible.

Can anyone else confirm the under-clocking? I take wikipedia with a grain of salt =P

its a nice media device, phone, camera, player, browser. they made something very nice. now, droid products also kick ass like this too. keep the momentum going and the equipment gets better. a great release for apple, as I hate them so, but this is a very nice job overall. just the corny "nobody can do X or Y or Z" is cheesy untrue and annoying.

I didn't know I had to do a full review of both devices to post in a comment section. Do you own one of your own so you can say that you know wich one is better? And when it all comes down to it, it's really just personal preference. I own both an iPhone and an Android phone, and there are certain things I love about both and dislike about both. Neither is ever going to provide a "perfect" device that appeases to everyone's taste, and style. But haters are gonna hate and claim theirs is better because they have nothing better to do. Oh, and my dad can beat up your dad..... clown

hahahaha, I just made a joke dude, you see an mp3 player plays music, which you use your ears to listen to and enjoy. Its sole purpose is to do this, then you claimed to use your ipod instead of android as an mp3 player because it looks better. You see looks is something you do with your eyes and has nothing to do with listening to music. Its a joke dude, a joke. Yes I have a plethora of apple, android, and windows products in my home but I only carry my phone with me, as you see a smart phone can do just about everything these days so there is no need for me to carry my ipod as well, but thats just me, carry as much shit as you want bro, I couldn't care any less.
