[citation][nom]scuba dave[/nom]You sir, are quite wrong to think apple isn't tech. Perhaps its not the earth-shattering, mind numbingly awesome technology *you* prefer to call tech.. But when I read the word tech.. I obviously have a more open and broad definition.. One more aligned with the dictionary than a elitist definition. Being narrow minded isn't good. But regardless, do I see this kind of banter on all the articles about japanese watches? Or how about the wire fraud article? Or any of the other non tech articles? Negative. It's apple articles that get the hate, plain and simple. And then the funny thing is.. While you are all bashing the crap out of Apple and Jobs.. The *second* he might be terminally ill.. ya'll turn ya'lls noses back towards the ground and express sorrow, sympathy, and respect. Which just makes me laugh my ass of. It's humorous to watch the two-sided antics you guys have. Hate hate hate hate.. What your sick now?[/citation]

I don't know what site you go to, but there is all kinds of hate on this site when there is a non-tech article.

As for people showing sympathy for someone who is ill... WTF is wrong with that? Someone being terminally ill has NOTHING to do with the tech they may be involved in. The trivial hate someone might show for Apple shouldn't mean that someone would want to see Steve Jobs die a horrible death to Cancer. The fact that you expect people to do that shows just what kind of person YOU are.

Besides, I'm sure if you recorded the names of the people who expressed sympathy for Job's situation, you'd find they aren't the same people who hate Apple most of the time.

I, actually, only look at this site, actually.. So yeah, that's really all I have to go based on.. So when I made my comment.. It was based on this site. Exclusively. And the hate on this site, I'm sorry, is primarily Apple. :)

Also, are you actually trying to imply that by me expecting someone to show someone who might be terminally ill, with or without cancer, sympathy, that I'm somehow a bad person? Close your mouth please. Your an idiot. Whether or not it's the same people making the comments about him being sick is inconsequential because even if it is different people, it shows that the ones who do bash Apple and Jobs religiously decided to *not* say something. Funny how it takes the possibility of a man dying to get the elitists here to act grown. And of course it doesn't have anything to do with his tech. That's obvious. However it doesn't stop the frequent comments from many that imply he should die on a constant basis after they read an article that has nothing to do with them(if they aren't buying apple products that is). It's pathetic. It shouldn't come to that, and it's poor form and even worse manners. See, I have this funny little moral that I was taught quite a long time ago in which if something doesn't pertain to me.. I don't poke my nose into it. I don't go bashing my way into a situation that has nothing to do with me. And if all these people who do boycott apple are truly avoiding apple products like the plague.. then anything Apple does won't affect them. But no. That's too much to ask. Far too much. They throw PC standards at Macs as if that's even logical.

What it really all boils down to, is the elitist culture that seems to thrive on this site, and others like it, is just nothing more than a bunch of cyber-bullying via power granted through being anonymous on the internet. I would think enthusiasts on this site would be smart, and more respectful than to lower themselves with childish bullying tactics and insults.. But no. So wave around your epeen's to and fro. Wag it in each other's faces while you're at it. It doesn't make it true. It doesn't make it impressive. It doesn't make you right. It just makes you all pricks.

Also, the funny thing about everything is.. from a purely numbers basis.. If Apple commands 90% of the Tablet market as they said at their press event.. That would mean that all you guys hating on it(the vast vast vast minority) are more of a cult than us. Most people.. Yeah, that's right.. Most people like apple. They are good products, in their *own* way. Ya'll refuse to accept that, bash that, and abhor that. So while *most* people are apparently iSheep.. Ya'll are just an Elitist Cult. Elitist. Cult. One, that I am very sad to have sad I was very much a part of.. Up until semi-recently. Glad I grew up. I'll bring the cake when ya'll catch up. 😉

Are you kidding me? creative? apple? Apple only makes piss poor excuses for a functional device that people perceive as being creative. All work of one person, steve jobs. Make the back of it like a polished mirror, paint it black or white and make it look pretty. Oh, and for the second version add the features that are standard on most competitors devices. Without it apple wouldnt have the status of a shiny toy company, more than a serious device manufacturer. Professionaly, tell me whats being used more in the world, PCs or Macintosh type computational machines? There is far more demand for innovation in industries and people that use PC type machines than Apple machines (science research for example). Apple imposes far too many limitations on their products to be considered truly innovative. Only a true fanboy would say apple is "new" and "hip" and "innovative". Even Microsoft is more innovative in the software department.

Blah blah. Too much to read. I stopped when you turned to the usual childish name calling. You said it yourself. You expected people who hated Apple to show the same hate when they find out Jobs is terminally ill.

You said and I quote: "And then the funny thing is.. While you are all bashing the crap out of Apple and Jobs.. The *second* he might be terminally ill.. ya'll turn ya'lls noses back towards the ground and express sorrow, sympathy, and respect. Which just makes me laugh my ass of. So if someone hates Apple, they also must have zero sympathy for Steve Jobs being terminally ill. I call you out on it and you call me an idiot? haha The rest of your wall of text isn't worth reading.

Here's a link for you:

I'll wait on tablets until I can actually use them like a PC. install off a share, open a terminal/cmd prompt, etc Until then, it's a glorified cell phone without the cell or a very expensive remote control. I purchased an apple desktop and monitor once in 2003 (cost me 8000 bucks) 3 weeks later, it was outdated and apple wouldn't upgrade me.

Do yourself a favor and if you purchase ANYTHING from Apple, wait until the 3rd or 4th version, otherwise you'll feel crapped on. Let the hollywood people, with more money than they know what to do with, be the "live" test dummies for Apple.

I tried an ipad 2 at a shop in dubai. What does it really do that a light weight laptop cannot, with more accuracy, speed and "fullsomeness". Schedule, contacts, etc etc all done better in my trusty samsung laptop, thats got a great screen. Other than an initial euphoria of owning an ipad, what real life additional good does it do. After a while when the new feel is gone in the market, its just a pointless, limited use thing that is just a doll like child of a laptop's marriage to digital camera. Mildly interesting.
