All we have on this news story is the guy's word. The story seems a bit exaggerated to me.

At the price of an iPod, I would not take the money if I had other options. The price for keeping quiet is much higher than just the price of an iPod.

So either get my money back that im MEANT to get or complain about it? Id tell them the f**k off properly at which im good at doing so every single time needed, and not stop till i get my money back. Way too simple. Can't see why not actually. Try to tell them that if you don't get your money back you will sue them and see what happens

I don't like ITUNES and I recomend generic MP3 players but the sad truth is.
Lithium ION or poly batteries are the problem

Is you over discharge them they grow cystal short and explode
If you over charge them the grow crystals short and explode
If you over vibrate them they grow crystals short and explode
After three years the chemistry becomes unstable and charging or discharging becomes unsafe which is why most LION batteries shut down three years after manufacturer date.

Thats right you battery in your cell phone or camera will do the same thing
