Arriving from OS and need cell phones

Hello,
My family and I are moving to the USA from Australia early next year and I am trying to figure out the best cell phone plans for us to go on. We currently pay $10/month each and for that we get free calls to each other, 150 minutes and 250mb data. Are there any plans that would offer something similar? We both have unlocked Galaxy Nexus GSM handsets.

There is nothing close to $10 a month, probably $40 a month is the best plan to use for most 2nd tier companies like MetroPCS and StraightTalk.

You may be able to get a per minute plan for that cheap but with very little usage.
