when booting system it goes directly to Windows Error Recovery page. However the screen is frozen and will not respond to mouse or keyboard.

Solution
Try holding down zero with the laptop off and then while still holding it down, turn it on. See if it will take you to a menu where you can then access the recovery partition. Keep in mind that if you do a system recovery, it will reset it back to factory conditions and in the process wipe all of your files.

That's why everywhere one turns in the tech world you always hear the mantra "Backup Backup Backup" you never know when something bad might happen that could cause you to lose your data.
