I brought this laptop a few months ago,and have used it very little. I turn the power on yesterday and screen read aotumatic disk repair. Then repairing disk errors may take longer than an hour. The scan lasted 3 hours and return to a blank screen. I shut the power off and tried to reboot only to get the same message ,automatic disk repair. Is there anything I can do to fix this.

It sounds like the hard drive has failed, in which case it will have to be replaced with a new one.
Don't take that for granted though. Test it with the drive maker's diagnostic software for DOS which loads from a bootable CD. The download links are here: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287

if it's a WD drive, you can download the CD Image file from here: http://www.smartestcomputing.us.com/topic/63494-looking-for-western-digital-data-lifeguard-iso/

Use IMGBurn to create the CD from any of the ISO files you download: http://www.filehippo.com/download_imgburn/
