ASUS G75VX Battery Question

I have an ASUS G75VX Laptop and I was wondering if leaving it plugged in, even when full battery, would cause the battery to ware out and not last as long in the future. I was told that by a friend whom know a lot about computers and so I just wanna check because sometimes my computer will not give me the "10% battery remaining" Message and will turn off completely without going into sleep mode. Your ASUS G75VX has Li-Ion battery so no, it will not shorten its life span but it will wear out it's effectiveness. However, the same can't be said for the Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries.
