Hello guys,

1 month ago i bought an asus Gl502vs :
Gtx 1070
I7 6700hq
8 gb ram

The problem is that most demanding games like far cry 5 or rise of the tomb raider are unplayable. I am around 30 - 70 frames with 50% gpu usage and cpu not hitting 100%.
Maximum performance is selected in nvidias control panel and also in windows.

I tried everything else i know but i just cant it get to work. I hope you have some ideas.

No the cpu is not maxed out. Most of the time between 50 and 80%.
I undervoltet de cpu and gpu and while heavy gaming, the cpu reaches 80-85 mostly and the gpu around 80.
Clock speeds stay the same during gameplay .. so no thermal throttling imo.

Well, Try To Increase Preformance By Battery Settings, From Battery Life To Higher Preformance If You Haven't Already.... And Maybe Your RAM Is The Bottleneck Here? How Much Mhz It Has?

Already changed the windows settings. The ram is at 2133MHz. As far as i know .. skylake doesnt even support higher speeds.

hey jesse25181

i have some similar problem with my Asus G502VS (fy042t)
when i start a benchmark for either GPU or CPU, they hit 99% usage, but in everry game i play, my cpu is at 50-80% and GPU at around 70%
this causes games like AC origins to run at 43 fps only in 1080p and with big ups and downs in fps, but when i choose 4k resolution it gets a constant 36 fps (all on ultra) and the GPU ist maxed out at 95-99%
i updated my drivers, undervolted my cpu and gpu and tried everything in the nvidia control panel, also searched for anything limiting my power consuption but i couldn't find anything, only that this laptop works pretty good for others... really don't know what to do anymore

I kinda solved the problem back in the day. What i did: i bought a second 8 gb ram stick so the laptop actually uses dual channel speed. After that i got around 30 fps more in everygame. Sounds wierd ... and it also was wierd.
After that however, i sold the laptop just because of the high thermal values.
Cheers

I already have 16gb of ram, also single channel, but according to what i found on the internet, it doesn't really change anything with dual channel and it's also quite expensive
I think i have to keep searching
