Hi! I have posted a thread here yesterday about some other machines. Now I have managed to find a good deal on an Asus K56CB-XX102D.

Specs are: Intel Core i5-3210M [Ivy Bridge], 750GB HDD, 4096MB DDR3, nVidia GeForce GT 630M 2GB

If anyone remembers, I had asked about a different K55VD with a slightly newer processor but a very very weak GPU (the 610m). According to benchmarks the GT 630m is a good bit better. The thing is I have found this computer in limited stock (possibly an older model) and a 100 Euro discount, so this is quite urgent for me.

K56CB-XX102D, Procesor Intel® Core™ i5-3317U 1.7GHz Ivy Bridge, 4GB, 500GB, GeForce GT 740M 2GB

this is my 2nd choice, which is more portable and slimmer with a weaker CPU.

Please help me decide once again.

Thank you!

It has to least at least 2 or 3 years. I'm thinking I should wait longer, maybe I find a good summer deal. My deadline to buy is around the 25th of august. I'm really not happy with anything on the market at the moment. There are no ballanced computers. Always lacking in one aspect or another. Maybe I should settle for something less than i5 ivy core. Maybe a celeron dual core or something.

I plan on it. So far I have shifted my search towards some Lenovo machines. Perhaps even an Acer. Still reluctant about Acer.

IdeaPad G580 i5-3230M 1TB 8GB GT635M 2GB

or

Lenovo G580 Intel® CoreTM i7-3520M 2.90GHz, Ivy Bridge, 4GB, 500GB, nVidia GeForce GT 630M 2GB (this one is re-sealed and has light scratches. i think it's a send back) 150 euro cheaper than new. but 50 euro more expensive than the one above.

I thing the i5 ideapad is a safer bet. It's new and performance is pretty much the same.
