Asus Laptop - Can't Exit Aptio Setup Utility

Hi,

My Asus x550cc laptop crashed yesterday all of a sudden and now it's only loading Aptio Setup Utility. I noticed a weird sound coming from the HDD area. When I remove the HDD it doesn't make any noise but still loads the Aptio Setup Utility. I read online about some possible solutions from within the bios but none of them work for me. It's probably a hardware issue? Tomorrow I'm going to connect the HDD to another machine and see if I can fix any errors. Has anyone encountered such a problem? Should I buy a new HDD if nothing else works? Thanks!
