Asus laptop help

My Asus X550J froze on me so I did a hard shutdown. When I went to turn it back on, nothing happens. The green lightbulb light is on, but it wont turn on. Also, there weren't any updates running that i am aware of. Any suggestions?

Take out the battery ... plug in the charger ... turn it on ... if it starts put the battery back in and let it charge for a couple of hours and leave it alone.
