ASUS laptop wont turn on or respond

Whislt trying to plug headphones in the jack I accidentally put them in the SD card slot causing my laptop to instantly shut off. I've put it on charge but no lights are showing nor is it turning on. It's an Asus F540SA and is on a 3 year warranty but we have lost card. It does not have an accessible battery so I can't turn it on only using AC. Is this a motherboard fault or is there a way to reboot it?

Hi, the problem is on the motherboard, you have a transistor that has burned when you accidentally shorted the chip for the SD card.
