Hello. I recently bought a used laptop [Asus N61VN-JX077V] because i needed one when im not home.
The laptop came with 4GB RAM, and i asked the seller if i could add at least 6GB and he told me yes, and i could even add 8GB.
Today i removed one of the memories [The laptop has 2 memories 2gb each and 2 slots] , and went to the computer store and told them that i wanted a 4GB RAM that is compatible with that one that i have. They gave me one [Kingston 4GB DDR3] and told me that if it does not work to bring them the ram.
I tried different possitions, and when i insert that ram the laptop turns on but the screen remains black, and when i insert my old one it works.
I also tried something that my friend told me to do, it was turn the computer on, and insert the ram really quick, i did that but when i go to the System it shows 2GB and on CPU-Z shows 6GB.
One more problem is, when i insert just that memory that i bought, the computer also turns on, but not the screen. I
It's a RAM. Or computer problem?
Thanks.
