I am looking for a new laptop that I need for work. Now I realize that I should be looking at mobile workstations, but old habitats die hard, I take care of my electronics and I just can't justify spending the money I'm willing to on a computer that doesn't have a good GPU.

Here is my needs

Budget:
Less than $3000.00

Ram:
16GB +

What I have been looking at for the GPU is a GTX 980M. Basically I can't think of a better laptop that will do what I want better than the Asus ROG G751JYDH71. Any Suggestions

That is an option. I haven't really shopped for a laptop in a long while, and the days that I sold them have been even longer ago. I do build my own desktops and in the past, the reliable motherboard companies (Asus at that time) was one of the best laptops on the market for the price without all the bloatware. Now with Gigabyte and MSI making laptops, I am lost. this game has gotten harder. The two that I had been debating on is the MSI GT72 Dominator Pro-210 and the ASUS ROG mentioned above. The only reason why I question this anymore is because my most recent Asus product that I've bought, the original Transformer Tab (TF-101B1) didn't hold the test of time, granted that is a mobile device running android; but I have been reading some really negative things about the new Asus laptops and I feel like there is a lot of sway in opinions.

If it is any cancellation, I've also had MSI mother boards that have gone out. I understand and forgive the fact that not everything is perfect, electronics wear out just like mechanical things, but if the laptop I order comes DOA. I could be s***ed with the situation I am in.
