Solution
take the pc your build is far more powerful than the laptop
also take an IPS screen for editing for more color accuracy
and if you want 32gb of memory make it a single kit of 4*8gb (guaranteed to work with each other)
for psu maybe the 1000w one?

You don't need 1000W, the 850W power supply should be fine.

Advantages of a Laptop is you can take it with you when you travel, or you decide to move and have to wait for furniture you'd still be able to use it.
But for video editing, animation and some gaming the Desktop Computer is ideal.

thanks for replying! :)
is this better? http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/aelien/saved/mhhp99

also I realized the video card price wasn't available so I had to choose something else. so now it's between that build vs G752VY

will that make a difference for the rog's case?

oh right! sorry about that, I was supposed to change that :) so even if i choose a higher ROG, will the pc still be way faster than the laptop? the G752VY has

NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980M with 4GB GDDR5

Intel® Core™ i7 6700HQ Processor

Memory
32 GB DDR4 MHz SDRAM

Storage
1TB 7200RPM + 256GB SSD (PCIEG3x4)

?
and thanks for helping :)

most of the stuff are being shipped, but with me living in the middle of nowhere, I'll be lucky to get all parts before 1st week Dec :s (also got a free assassin's creed game code! it comes with the graphics card, so I'm excited to try maxing out game settings for the first time! :)) also do you guys know of a build tutorial for a complete virgin pc builder? I'm feeling pretty nervous about the right placement of cords, and most of the tutorials I've watched skip the attachment part

I suggest you go on youtube and search for computer builds. Also keep the motherboard manual handy, its very useful for when you have to hook up the power on, reset, hdd light indicators, etc.
