Asus shuts down

My Asus U46E shuts down by itself. No one can figure it out. But it seems like it just shorts out. I was thinking of buying a new cord and or battery. If I remove the battery, and try and run it without it, it will not even power up. My sony recommends to save the battery to do this, but I guess Asus is different.... or ???? this is part of the issue.
Any ideas

Hi,

Do you see any light on your charger when you plug it into the wall socket? It's actually not the battery nor your charger is faulty if your AC Adapter is getting power this could probably be with your motherboard specially if you don't see any light on the laptop itself. If it's still under factory warranty I suggest you contact Asus right away and have them serviced your laptop.
