ASUS UX303UA keyboard backlight

I am not able to turn on the keyboard backlight on my new asus UX303UA notebook. Can anyone help? Thank you. David

I do hope so. The product info of the retailer says so. Plus when I boot the notebook the keyboard is backlit for a brief moment.

I ask, because some models of UX303UA do not have a backlit keyboard. Have you always had this problem?

It is brand new and I never was able to work the light. I would I know which model I have all it says is UX303UA and as I say the ligth comes on when booting.

Did you tried in a dark area, the Asus site said about the keyboard backlight "Thanks to ASUS ambient-light sensor technology, the keyboard backlight adjusts automatically to suit the ambient lighting, so you'll always be able to see the keys, even in complete darkness.".
