Asus Ux31a battery issues?

I just put in a brand new battery and it charged to 17% then quit charging... has anyone experienced the same thing? Reading this thread on ux31E not charging, I'm seeing a lot of charger issues. Is there a test for the charger? also, someone mentioned generic chargers, can I get a brand name from someone.

You can use hwmonitor to check for the battery wear. If it says 0% then it could be that the power jack or the charger itself is faulty.
