Hello, I just turned on my Asus UX510U laptop and it showed an “erasing flash” screen, it ran to 100% completed...made no sense. Then it shut down and when it’s turned on it sits at the Asus logo and seems to be unresponsive to any keys or combination of keys...

Edit: I managed to get ctrl + home to respond, but it tells me “file not found, rebooting system”

Sounds like you may have erased the drive. Either by pushing the wrong keys and power (it happens, something hits another key), pushing power incorrectly (some will start that if you hit power a certain number of times quickly or hold it to long, or something was on the computer that erased it on you.

You may well need a CD or USB with the original installation software, which will also allow you to check the computer to see if it is indeed the problem. If you don't have it, you can download it here... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 ... and get the USB download tool here... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool

If you want to check the drive to see if there is anything left on it, you are going to have to either pull it (the drive) and connect it to another computer or take it to a local tech to have them look at it.

NOTE: If the laptop is under warranty, then I would contact the manufacturer.

I assumed this is where this was headed...

I came home pushed the power button, went to the bathroom and came back to it apparently erasing itself.....

How did you put the files on the USB? Using the info at the links given, or another way?

I followed the tool for windows 10 and put it on the usb...

Im wondering if it isnt my BIOS that has completely crashed or something...

This all seems to have started after the june 6th bios update, but i can't be certain

Well, it had been bugging me about an update for a couple weeks. Then, I probably left it on over night and it auto updated and reset.. I’m not sure BIOs updates can go through windows automatic update or not..
