To kick this off let me explain the situation. I recently owned a Lenovo Y series laptop (cant remember the exact model of the laptop unfortunately), that served me well for a while but it ran into some serious problems and I had to take it in to Best Buy. They do their thing and ship it off for me and I get informed about a month later that the repair cost is too significant so I get a full refund for the price which ended up being $835.

I just built a brand new gaming desktop (thanks in large part to advice taken from this site) so I am not really in need of high end gaming laptop. I just need one that is fast, handles basic computing (browsing, Microsoft Office, netflix).

I would like to keep it in the $600 range or less if you all have any suggestions of models. However the two I am looking at are:

Asus X555LA - DB51
-1.7 GHz Intel Core i5-4210U Haswell
-8GB of DDR3L RAM
-1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
-Integrated Intel HD 4400 Graphics

Lenovo Flex 2 - 59418262
-1.7 GHz Intel Core i5-4210U (Haswell)
-6GB of DDR3L RAM
-500GB HDD + 8GB SSD Cache
-Integrated Intel HD Graphics 4400

The two best buy links in case anyone needed/wanted them:

Asus: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-x-series-15-6-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black/1311358774.p?id=mp1311358774&skuId=1311358774

Lenovo: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-2-in-1-15-6-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i5-6gb-memory-500gb-hdd-8gb-solid-state-drive-black/7017091.p?id=1219247540740&skuId=7017091

Also, Slightly out of budget, but marginally considering throwing down the extra 100 for this one.

Lenovo Y50 - 59418222
-2.6 GHz Intel Core i7-4720HQ (Haswell)
-8GB of DDR3L RAM
-1TB HDD + 8GB SSD
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M Graphics (2GB)

Additionally for another 100 on top of that I can get a 256GB SSD, not sure if they extra SSD space is worth it or not. Advice?

I appreciate any insight into the slight differences and any wisdom anyone may have on the brands or products.
