So I have an Asus n551jx (windows 8.1 pro) and it gets stuck on the Asus in search of incredible screen every time I start the laptop and after a few minutes it goes to a black screen that says reboot and select proper boot media. So i have the windows disk I have tried using it in this screen and it doesn’t work, so i used the f2 button to go to boot options and when I went there it shows something like this:
BOOT CONFIGURATION
Lanch CSM [enabled]
Launch PXE OpROM policy [Diabled]

BOOT OPTION PRIORITIES
Boot option#1 [p4: st2000...]
Boot option#2 [p2 HL-Dt-St...]

Cd/dvd rom drives bbs priorities
Hard drive bbs priorities

> delete boot options

I don’t know what to do and I would really appreciate some help

Solution
You said you have a Windows disk, it won't boot off that? First thing, re-seat the hard drive see if that helps. Go into the BIOS and make sure that the drive is listed there. Could be a failed hard drive.

I agree with hang-the-9.

Your first step should be to make sure that BIOS is recognizing the hard drive.

If it is recognized, maybe your next step would be to get a command prompt and run chkdsk to do a HDD health check.
