Hi. I have a ASUS X555LJ and i would like to upgrade its RAM. I'm trying to figure out if the laptop only has a slot and it's being used already, if it has two slots or if it has a free slot and soldered memory. Windows task manager tells me I have two slots while Crucial system scanner says I only have one. However, I can't figure out how to open the RAM cover.

This is how it looks like: http://imgur.com/ApeyfEU

Thanks in advance.

Do you mind If I can have a complete picture of your Bootom of the Laptop, and also I have found the exact ram you need for best performance http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-Impact-1600MHz-HX316LS9IB/dp/B00KQCOTCM/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1447593546&sr=1-2&keywords=sodimm+ddr3+8gb+1600&refinements=p_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A2253866011%2Cp_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A677427011%2Cp_n_feature_twenty_browse-bin%3A9729697011

It would greatly help aswell if you have cpu-z and could tell print screen the specifics of the SPEED and Memory settings Please so i can help you solve this as quick as possible.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Here's the complete bottom: http://imgur.com/vAye3kR
And CPU-Z memory tab: http://imgur.com/esA6cIl

My SPD tab was empty, on both slots.

That's the problem. I can't figure out how to open it. I've tried to get a small card under that cover and it's still too thick to pry it open. Maybe I should try a knife?

I got the same problema too.. I get onboard ram with 4Gb and the slot I have on top was allready with one ram of 4Gb too
Maybe if I take out the ram with 4Gb and put one with 8Gb... you think that can give a better performance on computer?

I use for performance... Music and Games
