If I'm reading it right, 8 GB is onboard already. So you can only add another 8 GB
Yes,I understand.it is already 16GB inside.
Would I be able to put Samsung SSD 1TB 1T【NVMe】SM961 Gen3 M.2 80mm PCIe 3.0 x4 MZVKW1T0HMLH inside the computer?
Do you already have the UX501 or are you intending on purchasing it?
If you are intending on purchasing it, and are looking at a model advertised as having 4K 3840x2160 resolution, know that it is using a false-resolution Pentile display that can't actually display the full 4K resolution, and creates a grainy appearance as it downsamples that resolution onto its incomplete dot array.
The Dell XPS 15 4K and Lenovo Y700 4K have true 4K displays, I would consider them first.
Hello,
How much ram can upgrade on the Asus zenbook pro ux501vw ,how much will I beagle to add?
Can I upgrade it to 32GB?
Thank you
I actually just bought this laptop and Mr Memory says you can only upgrade the 4GB removable RAM module with an 8GB stick. However after looking around the net I can see a few people that say they have swapped that 4GB removable module with a 16GB one - totalling 24GB RAM.
I am actually sending back this laptop as it had been damaged before I opened it and I found a dent on the back when I was about to open it up to add more memory.
It does seem the Dell XPS 15 is the better laptop for upgradable RAM but the 4K one does come at a heafty price - Plus one really annoying thing for me is it doesnt have a numpad.
Anyone know any other 4k touchscreen high end laptops around the Dell and Zenbook Pro price points that offers the numpad and up to 32GB ram? I use alot of design programs that can be very RAM intensive. Actually I noticed while browsing chrome the Zenbook Pro was using 6GB RAM without me having any other programs open...that seems like alot to me.

Depending on what country you're in, there are lots of deals to get the 4K at a good price. Don't only look at Dell.com.
yes, i am trying to buy a laptop only after i heard that the asus is bad.but my friend introduce me the thunderobot,so i am not so sure.
msi or thunderoot for adobe premiere pro ,heavy video editing?
Is the UX501vw the same as the N501vw? My notebook says it's N501vw and there's only 2 of 4 slots occupied. I already have 16gb of RAM but would I be able to add another stick? Or is it the same as the ux501vw and only supports up to the 16gb I already have?
Can't find anything on Google but I'm a bit confused because I thought x64 systems ("motherboard architecture?" Is that the right term?) could support far more RAM than 16gb assuming there's enough physical space so I'm wondering why this laptop has a limit like this. I'm going to assume it's the same model unless someone knows otherwise; it looks the same to me.
