No where in this article or in any other article has Apple or AT&T mentioned the model name of the new iphone. All the 4G referencing is in respect to the generation of the iphone itself. All of you who keep talking about what it will or won't be named should hold off until it's officially announced before getting your panties in a bunch.

more accurately should be called iPhone v4.0... but then it would sound like an update to an already existing product rather then brand new revolutionary communication device

Please see the title of the article. ULTIMATE FAIL.

I would get it but I picked up my 32GB 3GS last November so I cant get it right away. My wife was really hoping to go to verizon, but as long as AT&T keeps the iPhone, I'm staying. I really like the iPhone, plus it's my iPod, and I get great service and 3G in my areas. And no, I am not an Apple fan boy. I bought a new macbook, then sold it 10 months later to get a Lenovo with Windows 7, which is WAY better.

Calling it the iPhone 4G is misleading, it certainly won't be on a 4G network.

If you want a 4G phone, the Evo 4G is the beast you want.

[citation][nom]Snipergod87[/nom]Why isnt apple breaking down AT&T's door?[/citation]

The same reason Apple is STILL at&t only...money!

I'd like to see a class action lawsuit for the false advertisement of "more bars in more places".

I'm a PC guy, but would own an iphone IF it was unlocked...what ever happened to the federal law that was going to force providers to sell all of there phones unlocked? After all, WE are buying it.

[citation][nom]Pyroflea[/nom]It's about time other providers are switching to 4g. Sprint's had it for months now. Japan has 10g or something ridiculous like that.[/citation]

Just like other posts here addressed... it is not for the 4G network. Sprint will remain the only 4G network in the USA for a while. And... while Japan and Korea do have much faster cell phone network than us... they do not have 10G (yet)... As far as I know.. 4G is still the most current... There were some talk about 5/6G network... but as far as I can remember.. it was still on the drawing board... However, Asia and some part of Europe... they are pushing the city wide WinMax.. which should help a lot on the data transfer...

When will be our turn?... I am not sure... sometime before 2020 ...I guess..lol

[citation][nom]thrust2night[/nom]Can we have a follow-up article on what is happening right now with the Gizmodo case? Last I heard the court unsealed the documents related to the arrest.[/citation]

How about a follow on the lost Droid Shadow, too?

As far as I can remember.. the guy who picked up the new Shadow and leak the picture got fired by Verizon.

Drama drama.... lol

I don't think any of you realize that the only reason Sprint and Verizon are rolling out 4G is because with their current technology and frequency spectrum of their "3G" they are tapped out. 4G is just a new buzzword to create hype and confusion. Sprint and Verizon 4G is still far slower then what AT&t and T-mobile 3G is capable of. Sprint is bragging about 7mbps when I am pulling around 5mbps for years. T-mobile has already been rolling out HSPA+ on thir current 3G network and is already pulling well over 20mbps. So while you tools go jump on 4G hype with the EVO (even though that is going to be a really sweet phone hardware wise). I will still be enjoying much faster speeds and oh by the way congrats for finally being able to use data and voice at the same time! Only years behind on that as well.

If you can steadily pull 5 MBPs on your 3G AT&T I'd have to ask you to verify that M isn't a K and that you took your medications today.

And Japan / Korea have better networks because their land mass is so much smaller than the United States'.

Just let me know where to run the test. Also, to clarify I am not using tethering. I have a USB Connect Lightning 3G Modem and I am in the Denver area. However, I have pulled around 4mbps in Seattle and Portland. When I was in NY City a couple weeks back pulled around 5mbps. I hook it up to a Cradlepoint CTR500 most of the time and have had 3 Xbox 360s playing Battlefield on Xbox Live with no lag.

Do you have AT&T that you use regulary and get horrible speeds or are you just regurgitating what you hear? Also, Cell coverage is so subjective to your locale that what may work for me great in my area may not work for you in your area. I can say that I do travel a lot, but 85% West Coast.
