I sent an email to john Hesse the CEO of sprint and he has people answering the emails he asks in his commercial how to make sprint better. I haven't had sprint in 10+ years and I took the time to email him why I left. I got an email back and they told me thanks and what not. A little bit later I saw his commercials stating exactly why I left. Their CSRs sounded ghetto and uneducated and I hated dealing with them. The commercial stated something along the lines of improved customer service throughout the company. I know it was just not my complaint, but a culmination of them. I do think that is a way better stance and as soon as sprint gets the Iphone 4G I will be switching.

Too bad that disgruntled 80 year-old outside NYC only went after some low level local CRS's. Taking out the CEO of AT&T might have done more to get the point across to improve the quality of their customer service.

Didn't someone just try and shoot an AT&T employee? And all you on here couldn't understand why we didn't side with AT&T , sucked for the employee, but he works for the darkside. The power we've, let me take that back, the power that some people have decided Corporations has gotten out of hand it will be the death of capitalism. From the banks, to insurance, to telecoms ... some how people keep putting their faith in these creations of very wealthy people to f*ck over everyone else. I still can't believe people sided with insurance companies in the healthcare debate.

AntiMatter, are you serious?

You can't be this brain washed , Who The **** is Ralph Stephenson that he can't answer an e-mail. Is this how business exists these days? If you walk into a restaurant and you ask for the manager because the service was horrendous is it logical that you shouldn't be able to speak to him? This is why banks could destroy the economy, because, there are people like you that some how think that individuals should not be accountable when it comes to business. Even on a basic level, I as an individual have every right to send an e-mail to the proprietor of a business, I could care less if he recieved 10 million e-mails in a day. If he doesn't answer, he doesn't answer, but the argument that you shouldn't be able to send the care taker of a business an e-mail is simply preposterous, and it's the reason why capitalism today as an economic system is doomed to failure because some where along the line someone got the idea that mega corporations were a good idea, and the complete removal of accountability to both communities where they did business as well as with the individuals they did business arose. When business becomes to big to fail, and corporations (have the rights of humans, there by shielding the individuals who run businesses from any ramifications from their actions), as well as the complete brain washing of individuals into believing such practise is beneficial to society then it's time to throw out the baby and the bath water. I simply read your post and couldn't believe what I was reading. It's like the argument against the government option, as though private insurance companies by default would do it better, somewhere along the line people seem to forget private entities are not hear to provide healthcare, or jobs, or even keep the economy going ... they are here to do one thing, make money for their share holders, hence, the wall street meltdown. In the same vain after reading your post I can see how this madness is allowed to continue. Tell Prince Stephenson I'll make sure my lowly peasent friends don't trespass again and we implore he not send us to the gallows. We fear his wrath.

P.S. what other important decisions does Stephenson have to make other than to ensure that he keeps people buying his product? Ultimately, thatis his only job, while you consider it peon work, I consider it tantamount to his effectiveness as a CEO. SBC now ATT is the epitome of corporate power today, they are not succesful becuase they are a good company in the sense of to customers, but have positioned themselves such that they are effectively to large for others to compete.

I would love to see a Verizon commercial, "We've got an email for that." and poke fun at AT&T. Speaking of that, I think I'll go email AT&T now and see what happens.

Because there are essentially 4 wireless providers in the US now, and as with anything when it's monopolistic effectively all companies will operate the same. Verizon is no cheaper than AT&T, sprint, is lower Tier and has alot of catching up to do in terms of footprint.

Again, this is the issue with size of companies and capitalism today, the effects of price pressure simply don't work, because effectively companies can become so large that they weight the market such that prices can be fixed by what should be competitors. There are sufficiently few enough players that they can weight the pricing as they see fit. And those fixed prices would be high, across the board.

While people can threaten to switch, the options are limited. You see this especially in utilities (you can't get another power company), you can't get a different cable company, and so on ... this is the great failure in America at this stage, Capitalism was a brilliant system early on but essentially means little today because of the unaccounted weight that Mega-Corporations have on the world.

The only real solution, is to not have a cell phone, that's the only solution that would bear weight on the market. Andthat ain't happening.

I don't get it, if i was the owner or CEO of a company like AT & T, the first thing i would do is listen to the customers and their feedback. Afterall, they are the ones keeping the bills paid.

Granted, i would not always be able to conform with what the customers want but i can at least try....

They will not listen because we as customers will still foot the bill. Everyone talks all big and bad about how they are not going to buy the product but in the end the big companies know you will give in. That is all there is to it. Flame me if you want but this has been proven over and over again. Talk Modern Warefare 2 for example. haha. Or we could bring up the whole kid sweat shops in china and wally world. Ummm Foxconn lol.

The point is the big companies know what ever you do wont matter (even if you leave) becuase another smuck is waiting around the corner to take your place footing the bill.

Exactly, literally, the modern corporations is too large to fail. Because they are no longer locally based, they have no need to hold loyalty to customers or even employees. Essentially, they can treat you however they want, they are literally too big fail. Which all goes back to my point about capitalism today , it simply, will not work. It's like people who argued that private insurers by default would do it better than a government option, and the reality is, private companies in all business have no reason, incentive, or requirment to to keep prices down or even provide individuals jobs. That's why outsourcing is so easy, and even after banks got tons of money, they had no requirement to stem foreclousrers or increase lending.

Corporations these days, have no reason, to even consider the consumer, none what so ever, they are akin to oligarchies and have far too much leverage in tampering with market forces. I can't see how anyone can't realize that big business today is very bad, very very very bad. I don'tknow what the solution is, but so long as people think by default our system will work, or that a bad bsuiness will fail because people will stop buying from them, they are sadly mistaken. Even if AT&T didn't apologize for their actions, what are you really going to do about it? While you may have cared if it was your neighbor who was getting wronged, joe smoe across the country means nothing to you. You will continue to buy as is.

Could you imagine if the Montgomery bus boycott was attempted today with a national bus service! The bus company wouldn't miss a beat, they'd absorb the losses and nothing would change. Big Private businesses today are the worst thing that ever happened to capitalism.

Hilarious.

"We understand you are not pleased with our product, and services. May we suggest you go f*** yourself. If you do not we will rain down demon lawyers on you. Sincerely, AT&T."

"P.S. Go f*** yourself."
"P.S.S. You aren't going to be late sending in this month's payment due to the fact that you are f***ing yourself, are you?"

The only company worse with customers and customer appreciation (which is directly tied to monthly fees and how long someone has been a customer) is Direct TV. The funnier part to me is that Direct TV wins "awards" year after thanks. Nice to know that any award (especially car magazine awards) can be bought...

If AT&T CEO doesn't want to receive emails from public, don't post his email address. I don't use AT&T. Never like them.
