I'd like to upgrade to a decent desktop instead. I'm considering selling my laptop to put towards the next pc. If I put it up on ebay or kijiji how much should I ask for?

660GB HD
Nvidia GT 330m 1GB
i5 480m 2.67ghz

It looks just like that, it has 64 bit Windows Home Premium, 17 inch screen. Also I forgot to mention I live in Canada, retail is higher here. It's fairly comparable to laptops currently retailing around 700 cdn(plus we have to pay around 50 for eco charge + tax) since many of them just get integrated Intel HD graphics. $400 gets a very basic laptop, small Hdd, weak i3, integrated Intel HD graphics 13-15 inches. Going by Futureshop.ca since that's where I bought this laptop($1199) going with a custom build desktop next time.

Would $500-$750 be reasonable(perhaps list as 700 or 800 Or Best Offer). Most likely I would sell it to a fairly casual user who wouldn't want to build their own custom PC and who might have a casual interest in games. If someone chooses retail instead at 699-799 they might still get an Intel HD integrated card, 6GB RAM and a smaller screen although the retail laptop's processor and HDD would be better. Although I've never had any issues with the i5 480m, it's been pretty good for games and it hasn't bottlenecked me before the card. My laptop could potentially outperform an $799 retail laptop in gaming since they would have major problems due to integrated graphics card with no VRAM hence the newer i5 won't really help. And a fairly casual user won't really care about getting a 750GB-1TB hardrive over a 660GB, if they save $100-$200, no eco fee.

$500 may be a little steep even though the laptop has some nice features. I would be concerned with temperature issues with any laptop when used for gaming.

Buyers do not get excited with used computers including laptops. Advertise it for what you think it may fetch; you can always accept an offer that you feel is reasonable.
