Hello Tom's Hardware,

I am looking at buying a laptop with one of the below graphics cards.
ATI Mobility Radeon 5730M
ATI Mobility Radeon 5740M
The problem is I haven't seen reviews for this card anywhere and my preferred website - notebookcheck.net - does not seem to have any record of it.

I am assuming that because 4 is bigger than 3, the 5740M is a newer version of the 5730M, meaning it is more powerful.

Can anybody confirm this and provide some benchmark results or FPS tests for various popular games?

Solution
The 5730 is just a small bump up in performance over the 5650. You might have seen Notebookcheck call it an overclocked 5650.
But the performance gap between 5730/5650 and the 5470 is quite a large one. More than 100% jump up in performance for 3DMark06

I know, I use NoteBookCheck regularly and I am looking into buying a laptop that has one of the two cards. However, check this out:
K52DR-EX143V
ATI HD5740M
15.6” LED Screen
AMD Phenom II P920
Windows 7 Home Premium
4GB DDR3 500GB SATA
1GB Dedicated VGA
Is this a typo or is this a card?

oh, ok. cheers.
That makes sense and I am glad I have not bought that laptop; it is very inferior to the 5730M. (copied from other post)

Yes, I have noticed that. Recently I have been using the "Gaming Graphics Cards Comparison" list, found here:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-Games-on-Laptop-Graphic-Cards.13849.0.html
To compare how different potential laptops will perform. I prefer this because it is a little more user-friendly and it makes it more obvious which cards will and won't do certain things.

If I may ask just one more question,
"What is the nVidea equivalent of an ATI 5730?"
