ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 heat issues

I have a Gateway M-6862 laptop that I bought with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600, specifically so I could play some games occasionally without breaking the bank. Anyway, it turns I cannot do that, because the bloody thing gets way to hot when I try stuff on it. I tried playing the online game Cabal, and the GPU normally idles around 60-65C, but it went all the way up to 90-95C. I think it may have begun down clocking too. I need to send this thing in for repairs cause it has other problems, but I wanted to know, are laptop gaming GPUs meant to run at these kind of temps?!

Around 90 is within range, but 95 is a bit high. But, notebook GPUs have been known to work fine in the hundreds.
