audio ad virus

Hello

I'm currently having trouble with a random radio playing on my laptop. I have tried running numerous anti-malware programs but nothing accomplished. Any help?

Look in uninstall programs by date order.

Avast found nothing , audio still playing

Use Chrome? Go through Extensions and see if there's anything you don't want there.

yes i'm using chrome but no nothing is there that I dont want.

Turn off the internet and see if it disappears.

You haven't set media player to start up with Windows or any such?

no I haven't

and Rootkit.Boot.Harbinger.a. seems to be the name of it

This should remove it then http://media.kaspersky.com/utilities/VirusUtilities/EN/tdsskiller.exe

Run it if it finds anything select cure then reboot

kaspersky finds nothing.

Dont think its a rootkit then. That would have removed it

I had something simliar happened to me but I cant remember how I got rid of it. I think I did scan in Safe Mode "antivirus, anti-spyware,registry etc"

Also, you can do a system restore to a day you know for sure the sound wasnt there. Do this first and if it doesnt work, then do the safe mode scanning.
