Audio speaker not working

when i play somthing out of my speakers only the bass speaker and the right channel work and the left channel doesnt work. if i were to take the plug for the right and left speakers that plug into the bass speaker and pull it out half way the right channel speaker shuts off and the left one works but i have to hold it there or eles it will fall out does anyone know how to fix this problem?

What speakers are you using ?

Depends on the speaker interconnect type, when you pull the plug out half way, you could be shorting the amplifier, and thus the amplifier enters short circuit protection mode and shuts down.
