Audio working for movies but not for music

Hi

I have a Samsung tv and a HP laptop. When I plug my HDMI cable in to run through my tv I am having some sound issues. I go into iTunes to play movies and music, the sound will run through my tv for the movies but keep running through my laptop for music. Any ideas?

When you load a music track up and play it, try right clicking on the speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner of the screen and choose playback devices. Then choose the HDMI audio output option (or similar). Why this should change for music is odd, but this should help you, and i hope it may.
